A Marine Faces a New Challenge

When we were growing up, our dad used to encourage us kids to "show a little moxie".  He was a Marine. A veteran of WWII. He wanted to pass on the Marine spirit of can-do, and Semper-Fi.  A family is a team, he would say - a team that, like the Marines, can take on any challenge with fierce determination.  It was a good lesson, that he continues to teach as he approaches his 91st birthday, coming up May 24.  He's still mentally tough, and physically remarkable. But right now, he's facing a new challenge. He has bladder cancer. We were all worried about how he'd handle the news - but we should have known that he'd handle it like a Marine.  When the doctor was all done giving him the news and laying out the possibilities for the future dad said, "well - it sounds like I've got the right men on the job."  We're proud of you dad...and we're privileged to be a part of your team.
